One of the earliest S.1's produced, XN967 started its service career at RNAS Lossiemouth with 809 NAS on 2nd October 1963. By March 1965, she had transferred to 736 NAS and by 1970 transferred to NASU at Lossiemouth. In 1974, XN967 moved to the SAH at RNAS Culdrose and gained the maintainance number A2627. After retirement, she was transferred to the Flambards Theme Park at Helston in Cornwall on 4th June 1978 before being sold and scrapped in January 1994. The cockpit survived and spent some years stored with the Muckleburgh Collection before moving again to the Cockpit Collection at RAF Coltishall on 18th October 2004. With the closure of RAF Coltishall, the now restored cockpit moved to the City of Norwich Aviation Museum.
