100 Group

This display is dedicated to the men and machines of the Royal Air Force 100 (Bomber Support) Group that was formed on 23rd November 1943.  Amongst the duties of the group were the plotting of enemy wireless, radar, navigational and control systems. Once plotted, these systems were then jammed or confused by other aircraft of the group using specialised top secret equipment.  Large amounts of ‘Window’ (chaff) were also dropped whilst Mosquito squadrons escorted the bomber streams. The displays include photographs, models and personal effects to illustrate the story of this most secret of units.
